Grasmere 2010

Once more to The Lakes for couple of days as an early Spring refresher.

As always, relaxing and enjoyable; a little moderate exercise, some impressive scenery, and a spot of retail therapy, including but not limited to the annual visit to the Cornerwise shop in Keswick.

Two days of really excellent weather, though the remaining snow was sufficient to mean that Wrynose/Hardknott was closed, thwarting our plan to visit Muncaster Castle.

This year we were back in the Easedale room, though we had booked a different one: decorators were in (fortunately the smell of paint wasn’t too noticeable).

We ate in the hotel restaurant both nights this time, having booked an inclusive Winter Breaks offer. Food good – better than it was a couple of years ago when we last sampled it. Couple of hiccups with the service, resulting from the restaurant manager being a temporary stand-in; but he bought us liqueurs with our coffee the second night, so that wa OK!
